Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-07-27
1. General Provisions
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern the use of the BusTicket.am website (the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you confirm that you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with any provision, please do not use the Platform.
2. Nature of the Service
BusTicket.am is an information and comparison platform that collects and displays publicly available data about operators providing international passenger transport between Armenia and Georgia, Russia, Iran, and Turkey. The Platform itself is not a carrier or travel agency and does not directly provide transport services. Inquiries submitted through the Platform are forwarded to the relevant operator, and final booking, pricing, and terms are determined solely by that operator.
3. Data Accuracy
Information displayed on the Platform (routes, schedules, prices, contact details) is collected from public sources and may not reflect the current situation. Each operator page indicates a data quality and verification level. Before booking, you must independently confirm the information directly with the operator — including schedule, price, departure/arrival points, and required documents (passport, visa). The Platform is not responsible for the accuracy or currency of data drawn from public sources.
4. Inquiry Process
At this stage, a "Booking Inquiry" submitted through the Platform does not constitute a confirmed booking or a contract. The inquiry is sent to the operator, and the operator independently determines whether and when to respond. The Platform does not guarantee that the operator will respond within any specific timeframe, or at all. The Platform may contact the operator for additional verification purposes, but this does not replace the traveler's own confirmation.
Once direct payment/booking launches, a confirmed, paid booking is governed by Section 8 (Platform acting as disclosed agent). This section continues to apply only to inquiries sent before that functionality is active for a given operator.
5. Relationship with Third Parties
All carriers (operators) listed on the Platform are independent third parties. The Platform is not a party to any agreement concluded between a traveler and an operator. Any issue related to the transport itself (delays, cancellations, route changes, lost luggage, border-crossing issues, etc.) must be resolved directly with the operator.
6. User Obligations
By using the Platform, you agree to:
- independently verify the documents required for your trip (passport, visa, and any other requirements based on your citizenship),
- provide accurate and truthful information when submitting an inquiry,
- independently confirm all booking details directly with the operator before paying or traveling,
- not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform and its owners are not liable for any direct or indirect damage, loss, or expense related to the use of the Platform or the information presented on it, including but not limited to missed trips, delays, border-crossing issues, or matters related to the quality of service provided by an operator.
8. Future Payment Functionality — Platform as Disclosed Agent
Once the Platform activates direct online booking and payment functionality, the following principles apply:
8.1. The contract of carriage is formed exclusively between the passenger and the operator. The Platform is not a party to that contract. The Platform acts as a disclosed agent on behalf of the operator, for the purpose of facilitating the booking and accepting payment.
8.2. Payment collection and pass-through. The amount paid by the passenger is initially received by the Platform, acting on behalf of the operator. The Platform deducts its commission from the proceeds and remits the remaining amount to the operator. The Platform does not act as merchant of record for the full transaction amount — it acts as a payment collection and pass-through intermediary.
8.3. Passenger-initiated cancellation or change. If the passenger cancels the booking on their own initiative:
- 48 hours or more before departure: the full ticket price and the Platform's commission are refunded.
- 24 to 48 hours before departure: 50% of the ticket price is refunded; the Platform's commission is refunded in full.
- Less than 24 hours before departure, or a no-show: no refund (including the commission).
Where a specific operator offers more favorable terms, those apply instead of the rules above.
8.4. Operator-caused disruption (cancellation, major delay, trip did not run). If the trip is cancelled by the operator, does not take place, or is disrupted due to the operator, the passenger is refunded the full amount paid — 100%, including the Platform's commission — with no penalty or condition. In this case, the funds held by the Platform are refunded directly to the passenger without being transferred to the operator.
8.5. Setting the "Cancelled by operator / did not run" status. This status may be set by: (a) the operator, self-reporting; (b) the Platform's administration; or (c) a passenger report. A report from any of these sources automatically pauses the transfer of funds to the operator pending review.
8.6. Unresolved disputes. If the operator denies the issue reported by the passenger and neither side has clear evidence, the Platform defaults in favor of the passenger (i.e., the amount is refunded to the passenger) unless the operator provides clear evidence to the contrary.
8.7. Effect on operator standing. Repeated cancellations, delays, or trips that did not run are reflected in that operator's verification/trust score on the Platform.
8.8. Disclosure to the passenger. At any stage of booking, the passenger is clearly shown which operator the contract is being formed with. At every stage of comparison (route pages, operator cards, search results), the final, all-inclusive price is shown, including the Platform's commission, without a separate line item. At the final booking/payment step, the passenger is clearly shown the itemized price breakdown — the ticket amount that goes to the operator, and the Platform's commission amount — so the total never changes between the comparison stage and the booking stage.
8.9. Automatic fund release 1 working day after actual departure. The amount paid by the passenger is held by the Platform until 1 working day after the trip's actual departure, at which point the Platform's system automatically changes the trip's status from "Planned" to "Completed"/"Implemented," and the ticket amount (net of commission) is automatically transferred to the operator. "Working day" means a day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or official public holiday in the Republic of Armenia. "Actual departure" means the departure time including any delay: if the trip is delayed, the operator is required to update the departure time in the Platform's system, and the countdown is calculated from that updated time, not the originally scheduled one. If a passenger or the administration reports a delay that the operator has not entered in the system, that report pauses or resets the release countdown in the same way as a Section 8.5 report. If no party (passenger, operator, or administration) reports otherwise, the Platform assumes departure took place at the scheduled (or updated) time. This automatic process is paused if, within the 1-working-day window after actual departure, the passenger, the operator, or the administration records the "Cancelled by operator / did not run" status under Section 8.5, or any other dispute. If an issue is discovered or reported after the automatic release has already occurred (for example, an issue arising during a long-haul journey), the Platform applies the procedure set out in Section 8.6 and will attempt to recover the funds from the operator, but this cannot be guaranteed once the transfer has already taken place.
This mechanism is currently pending further legal review and may be adjusted.
9. Intellectual Property
The Platform's content (design, text, logo) belongs to BusTicket.am or is used with permission. Operator names and logos belong to the respective operators and are displayed solely for identification purposes.
10. Changes to These Terms
The Platform reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect from the moment they are published on the site. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia. Disputes are resolved by the competent courts of the Republic of Armenia, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
